The Fool's Journey
The Lovers - 6
In the orignal card, a man chooses between a beautiful woman, and a not so beautiful woman. Cupid would seem to favor the young couple. The older woman can be seen as a mother figure perhaps. Perhaps the man is choosing between wisdom and beauty. You decide. In the Waite deck, this card changed meaning, and shows a man (conscious mind) looking to woman (subconscious mind) who looks to heaven (divine mind). It symbolizes that your conscious and subconscious must become "lovers" for you to connect with the divine.
The Chariot - 7
This is the warrior who has harnessed the divergent powers of his mind. They pull him along as he rides in his consciousness, onward to greater goals. It is only when we can keep the various powers going in the same direction, that we have hope of keeping the chariot stable, and getting any where at all.
