The Fool's Journey
Wheel of Fortune - 10
This card can represent many things. The forces of life, driving the wheel of the universe, or the rise and fall of fortunes, both material or spiritual. In it, one can see the cycles of life, birth, death, and rebirth. The turning of the wheel of the year, the orbit of planets. The circle is one of the earliest symbols man used, and thus it has almost an infinite number of meanings.
Strength - 11
Again, note the lemniscate as a hat brim. How can a young beauty control the savage beast? The same way each of us must to learn to control our own internal beasts. Each of us contains great beauty and horrid beastliness, and just as with the fairy tale, only when the beauty gives the beast love, can the beast be freed from his bonds. Thus, this card shows the beauty controlling the beast, but with gentleness. True strength.
